Our Mission
The program of rodent control that we offer, Working Cats®, is a green program that relocates sterilized and vaccinated unsocialized cats who would otherwise have been euthanized at the shelter. The rats are repelled by the cats’ odor and leave. Compared to the methods that are most commonly used to control rats, this method proves to be effective, humane and environmentally friendly. It is a win-win-win situation!

The program was founded by Melya, Executive Director of Voice For The Animals Foundation (VFTA). VFTA is a non-profit animal rescue organization that is devoted to creating respect and empathy for animals through education, rescue, legislation, and advocacy. Over the last 20 years, Voice For The Animals has established itself as a leader that public and private institutions rely on. Our Working Cats Program, first developed locally in Downtown LA, has been adopted now by over 85 organizations across the country. Countless lives have been saved through this sustainable, non-violent alternative to rodenticides.
